Comic Zine Workshop:

Join us Saturday, January 20th at 1:00 pm for a zine worksop, led by Flip Sarta. In this workshop, we will celebrate the joy of making zines, showcase examples of different comics, and discuss the versatility of comic zines. Flip will guide participants in creating a folded zine to make a ‘list comic’. Paper and drawing materials will be provided but feel free to bring your favorite pens, markers, or whatever else you love to draw with!

Flip’s Bio:

Flip Sarta is an artist/writer from Upstate New York with a passion for community building. He has been working alongside Fred Siebert and Casey Gonzalez since 2019 during his days as an intern at Frederator! As the FredFilms Development Manager, Flip delights in stories about compassion, friendship, and finding beauty in the mundane.

Outside of the office, Flip organizes community arts events, the most recent of which was OutLoud Comics—a charity comics reading for the LA LGBT center, co-hosted with Silverlake Shorts. He feels it’s important to create spaces of community with fellow artists to celebrate their work (and to help the community in the process!).

He enjoys sewing, diners, and being surrounded by trees.

(Saturday) 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
