Ithaca Children & Youth Chorus
CSMA offers an exciting opportunity for young singers to find and develop their musical voice as part of a renowned Ithaca institution.
ICYC provides weekly instruction in a supportive environment, allowing each student to grow and practice their musical skills through a culturally diverse repertoire – traditional to contemporary. Students concentrate on building their music literacy, develop sight-reading, vocal technique, and musical notation skills while gaining self-confidence. Each year, participants share their love of music through several community concerts.
Divided into four different groups by age, the chorus is active September through May and students are welcome to join throughout the season.

Each year, participants share their love of music through several community concerts.
Older students are given the opportunity to learn and perform more challenging repertoire, expand their knowledge of technique and theory, and are experience additional performance opportunities.
Students are invited to all chorus retreats twice a year where they have the opportunity to learn from each other.
Our auditions are non-competitive, they simply allow the faculty to personally meet each student and understand their skills.

Due to the immense challenges of rehearsing choral music virtually or in person during the COVID-19 pandemic, ICYC is currently on hiatus. We hope to return in early 2022, please stay tuned for new program announcements!
