Description
Come explore Rumba Flamenca and Zambra, Spanish Romani dances in the 4/4 compás (rhythmic structure)! Considered women’s solo dances, the movements for both of these styles are similar, yet the music will determine how we use the movement.
In this series we will learn steps and movements of Rumba Flamenca, a lighthearted and fun dance, then continue with Spanish Zambra. We’ll start building our vocabulary with basic steps, beautiful arms and hands, turns, skirt and scarf technique, and compás. We’ll also learn about the history, culture, and a choreography for each style.
Wear leggings or other comfortable clothing for movement. No previous dance experience is necessary.
