This art theory class will consider the possibilities of art-making as a means for exploring the meaningfulness of our own experiences. We will look at contemporary visual art, historical art, the roles of poetics and poetry, and the important qualities of aesthetics. The objective will be simple but ambitious: to explore how art can be central to how we live our lives.
