Ashley (she/her) graduated with a BM in Music Performance, Jazz Studies from Western Michigan University in 2013. She has been performing professionally and teaching private and group lessons for well over twenty years. With experience in many styles including rock, funk, hip hop, jazz, Afro-Cuban and Brazilian rhythms, and classical percussion, she has taught beginners to intermediate players ranging in age from 4-64. Ashley can be seen frequently on the local music scene with her 8-piece funk band, The Comb Down, playing jazz with the Hank Roberts Trio, performing in a biweekly residency at the Deep Dive with the Galactic Wednesday band, and supporting various other musical acts. “I just want to share the joy that drumming has enriched my life with to anyone who wants to experience it for themselves! I love learning from my students who have much to teach me as well.”

Ashley also teaches beginner piano and music theory to all ages. She specializes with young children and folks who live with cognitive and/or physical disabilities.
