Susan Arnsten-Russell moved to Ithaca in 1976 to attend Cornell University and received a BFA with a concentration in painting and printmaking. She subsequently returned to school and in order to become an occupational therapist. As an occupational therapist, Susan has been able to work with diverse populations facilitating engagement in activities that make life meaningful. Susan has worked as an occupational therapist in and around Ithaca for more than 25 years. She also continued to explore the use of art as for her own personal development as well as a therapeutic medium. Over the years she has been a member of and exhibited at State of the Art Gallery, participated in the Annual Artist Market, group shows at CAP, and has been artist of the month at Alternatives Federal Credit Union. Susan makes digital prints of her original artwork. Some of her images use sketches drawn with ballpoint pen inspired by a moment, an experience or an event.
