Megan Nicole was born in Baltimore, Maryland and began dancing at the age of 16 on a local dance team in Roanoke, VA. Desiring to understand different aesthetics and develop her pre-professional career Megan Nicole studied Hip hop, Capoeira, and African Dance.

Following her dance training, she began to teach and choreograph leading her to complete a B.A. degree from Hollins University.

She has gone on to work with national recording artist Matisyahu, toured with “6-way street” (formerly Level 3:16), performed with Vertical Ambition, presented with Dwellings Dance Theatre and secured 2nd place in “For the Funky Ones” dance battle. Additionally, Megan Nicole’s Hip Hop choreography “Run This” received 2nd Place in Ultimate Stars 2017-2018.

Currently, she trains with the American Society of Capoeira Arts from Brazil under Mestre Doutor while teaching and choreographing across the east coast. Her goal is to make thought-provoking performance work and energize students with fresh perspectives.
