Learn beginner watercolor techniques, and gain confidence with the medium by painting! In this class, you’ll learn how to use color and how to convey light and shadow, as well as several effects like wet-into-wet and dry brush painting. Each class will focus on a new painting project based on still life or photographs, with one session devoted to landscapes and one to florals. We’ll also explore realist studies, illustration and experimental techniques in reference to contemporary watercolorists.

Both new and returning students are welcome, with new content for continuing students. Some drawing experience is helpful but not required. A tracing method with a light box will be available for drawing. Please contact the office for a list of materials.

This class is offered in person. Proof of vaccination, masks, and social distancing required.
